Event Description: 
The Umstead Hotel and Spa is delighted to offer the second edition of its Food + Wine Pairing classes. Soup + Wine will feature the unique pairing of Executive Chef Scott Crawford’s seasonal sweet and savory soups with Sommelier Justin Tilley’s hand selected wine recommendations – chosen to accent and enhance. Crawford will use local ingredients to craft a flavorful Lentil Soup with Lamb & Rosemary and a refined sweet soup of Sweet Potato with Gingerbread Panzanella & Pain D’Epice Ice Cream, among others. After a successful Pie + Wine class in November, Executive Chef Scott Crawford and Sommelier Justin Tilley will continue to nurture the relationship between everyday foods and wine. With plans for additional classes this year, Soup + Wine kicks off a series which will include other interesting topics such as BBQ + Wine and Pasta + Wine.
