Event Description: 
An will be featuring New World Dim Sum every Saturday and Sunday 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Chef Michael Chuong will serve an array of traditional dim sum with the fusion twist that An does best. The custom of dim sum is a gathering of family and friends on the weekends to spend time together sipping specialty teas or "wine" and dining on delectable small morsels. Dim sum is linked to the Chinese tradition of "yum cha" or drinking tea. As teas ability to aid in digestion and cleanse the palate became known, people began adding a variety of different small plates, and thus the tradition of Dim Sum was born. Some of the dishes Chef Chuong will be presenting are his Five Spice Duckling, Kobe and Shrimp Fried Rice, Steamed BBQ Pork Buns, Five Spice Beef Stew, Scallop Shu Mai, Gai Lan, Hanoi Calamari, Red Curry Eggplant, Petite Crab Cakes, Sesame Green Beans, Shrimp Cup Cakes, Turnip Cakes, etc, along with a selection of fresh sushi from our Sushi Chef and an assortment of housemade pastries from Pastry Chef Francisco Alamguer, who recently appeared in Cary Magazine (Sept/Oct 2010) for his exquisite desserts.
