“We bake the cakes in candy-sized bites, infuse them with a variety of fillings, then dip them in white and dark chocolate or a combination of the two, and decorate them like truffle candies,” said Sweet Memories Bakery owner and executive pastry chef Donna Ford.
“Move over traditional candy and flowers — Cake Trufflettes are our bestsellers this season.”
Cake Trufflettes come in packs of one, six and 12, and cost about $2 a piece at the Apex bakery. Place an order onsite at 800 W. Williams St. (N.C. 55), Suite 112. Sweet Memories is open Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
