Fire in the Triangle

Cary Magazine editor Emily Uhland was one of two “pro” judges at the Fire in the Triangle showdown on June 19. “Battle turkey” pitted chef Chad McIntyre of Market in Raleigh, against chef John Childers of Herons in Cary. Childers took home the victory.

Editor Tara Croft was a judge on June 26 for “battle shrimp” between chef Jimmy Reale of the Chapel Hill Country Club, and chef Christopher Hill of The Oxford in Raleigh. Hill won.

Victors from the first round will compete until a final winner is announced on July 31. The Iron Chef-style competition highlights North Carolina ingredients and showcases local culinary talent.
