You CAN Make a Difference

Burger 21, a popular burger chain located on 14220 Bradford Green Square in Cary, is linking up with PORCH of Western Wake!

Not only is Burger 21 known for having a wide variety of meals to choose from, the restaurant is also always plugged in with several different charities in order to make a difference in the community.

With over $127,000 already donated to local charities, Burger 21 is hosting a food drive for PORCH-Western Wake for the month of September. They are accepting canned and non-perishable goods through Sept. 21, and 10 percent of all sales made on the 21st will be donated to PORCH-Western Wake.

“We encourage the local community to donate non-perishable goods throughout September to help feed our neighbors in need,” said Burger 21 Cary franchisee Mitch Neal. “At Burger 21, we appreciate the opportunity to give back to the community by bringing local residents together for a great cause each and every month.”

Burger 21 has several “B-isms” included in its culture. One of these is to “B-Charitable.” This is why on the 21st of every month, Burger 21 donates a portion of its sales to the charity it is partnered up with that month.

PORCH-Western Wake has grown locally thanks to a group of Cary women who in 2010 found the grassroots hunger relief program called PORCH and decided to start their own. In 2015, PORCH-WesternWake donated 25,715 pounds of food to food pantries and service programs in Cary, Apex and Morrisville.

Typically, PORCH-Western Wake divides up its donations so that 80 percent goes to the Western Wake Crisis Ministry, 15 percent  to the United Service Organization of North Carolina and 5 percent to National Guard families.

Heads Up!

This month’s featured burger and dessert at Burger 21 are the Bayou Burger and Salted Caramel Pretzel Shake, which will both be on sale on Sept.  21.
