Find a good time for a couple of good causes, at the seventh annual Rock Your World benefit concert this Saturday night, and grab the chance to win $2,000 in cash!

North Carolina rockers Nantucket will headline the event, held at RallyPoint Sport Grill in Cary beginning at 6 p.m. Opening acts are Band of Brothers, Kyle Scobie and Kaylin Roberson.

All donations made at Rock Your World go to the Hope for Haiti Foundation and the Fanconi Anemia Research Fund.

“We’ve had a tremendous response so far and have already sold out all of our VIP tables,” said Mark Martyak, an event organizer. “In addition to the great music and auction items, we’re really excited about the $2,000 cash raffle this year. One lucky attendee will walk away very happy that night.”

Indeed: With every $20 ticket donation, guests will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win $2,000 in cash.

The event also features beer and drink specials, food, and a silent auction including custom guitars, weekend getaways, concert tickets, and restaurant and service gift cards.

Hope for Haiti Foundation is a nonprofit working to empower individual Haitians to change their own nation.

The Fanconi Anemia Research Fund seeks treatments and a cure for the disease, and provides support to affected families worldwide.

Rock Your World

The fifth annual Rock Your World free benefit concert will showcase “Rock and Roll for a Reason” on Friday, May 8 outside RallyPoint Sport Grill, located at 837 Bass Pro Lane in Cary.

Headlining the event will be East Coast rock powerhouse Sidewinder, along with Band of Brothers and Nightshift. All donations will go to Hope for Haiti Foundation and Dew4Him Ministries.

“We have been blessed to enjoy great community support for this event every year,” said Mark Martyak, one of the event organizers. “In addition to having a great time, attendees can rest assured that their contributions will positively impact the many lives of those served by these two wonderful charities.”

Doors open at 5 p.m., and live music begins at 6. This popular event also includes a huge silent auction, celebrity bartenders and special guest Gerald Owens of WRAL News.

This year’s auction items include a Turks and Caicos getaway; Surf City and Emerald Isle beach trips; sunset cruise for four on a private yacht; fly-fishing trip; guitar signed by Scotty McCreery; hand-painted Fender Stratocaster and Telecaster guitar; N.C. State Sweet 16 team-autographed cornhole boards and basketballs; Carolina Panthers and Carolina Hurricanes tickets; dinner for two at the Captain’s Table at the Angus Barn; Anglers Kayak from Bass Pro Shops; and rounds of golf for four at several area golf clubs.

Event organizers hope to raise more than $50,000 to benefit the two charities.

Hope for Haiti Foundation is a nonprofit organization whose work impacts individual Haitians, empowering them to act and change their own nation.

Dew4Him Ministries provides help for women from all walks of life, offering a range of services including life skill classes, job skills mentoring, leadership training, and faith development.
