Plunge, Pedal & Plod

Swim in an Olympic-size pool, bike and run a closed course around the mall, go it alone or create a relay team: It’s the Plunge, Pedal & Plod Triathlon!

The signature event of Fit & Able Productions, it’s the race that helped kick off the Cary nonprofit almost 20 years ago.

Fit & Able, founded in 1997, provides fitness and education programs that encourage kids and families to get off the couch and on their feet, and develop lifelong healthy habits. All athletes will get PP&P participation ribbons.

Now in its third year at Triangle Aquatic Center in Cary. From events dubbed Tri a Bit all the way to Tri a Lot, Plunge, Pedal & Plod offers four swim, bike and run courses to choose from, all open to every age and skill level. Choose your challenge!

The race, sanctioned by USA Triathlon, is set for Sunday, Aug. 16 from 8 to 11 a.m. Proceeds support Fit & Able programming.

The Triangle Aquatic Center is located at 275 Convention Drive in Cary, behind the Cary Towne Center.
