In honor of National Adopt a Cat Month, throughout June Alley Cats and Angels is offering discounted adoption fees on cats 6 months and older.

Why the focus on grown-up kitties?

“So many people want to adopt little kittens thinking they’ll grow up to be lap cats, and that is not always the case,” said Tia Hagnas, founder of Alley Cats and Angels.

“One of the great things about adopting a cat over 6 months old is they have already developed their personalities. As a foster home-based rescue, Alley Cats and Angels knows the cats’ personalities and their likes and dislikes, and can help find the right match for both the cat and the adopter.”

During the month of June, adoption fees for these cats is $60. You can view photos of all the adoptable cats here.

An all-volunteer non-profit, Alley Cats and Angels was recognized among the 2014 Top-Rated Nonprofit Organizations by GreatNonprofits, an online reviewing platform. In addition, the organization received media attention for rescuing the so-called “Tupperware kittens,” which were found in a sealed plastic container in Wake Forest, in 2014.

All cats and kittens adopted from Alley Cats and Angels come fully vetted including spay/neuter surgery, FeLV/FIV test, treatment for fleas and intestinal parasites, vaccination for distemper and feline leukemia including boosters, rabies vaccination and Home Again microchip with rescue paid registration, and a 21-day health guarantee.
