Fore the Cause

When you want to help but don’t know how … go golfing.

The Devil’s Ridge Men’s Golf Association in Holly Springs is hosting its 13th annual charity golf tournament this fall, but the time to sign up is now.

From $100 for a hole sponsorship to $5,000 as an elite sponsor, your dollars will make a difference.

“Thirteen years ago, members of the Devil’s Ridge Men’s Golf Association concluded that it was important for the organization to make a contribution to the greater Triangle community,” said Mike Hardwick of Cary, of the golf classic executive committee.

“Since that time this annual tournament has raised and donated over $250,000 to help support charitable needs.”

For the past three years the golf classic has benefited Alzheimer’s North Carolina, a nonprofit providing education, support and services to families affected by the disease while raising funding toward finding treatment, prevention and a cure.

Alzheimer’s disease affects 170,000 people in North Carolina alone, a number expected to quadruple by 2025. The disease has no known cause or cure.

The Devil’s Ridge Men’s Golf Association tournament will take place on Sept. 28 at Devil’s Ridge Golf Club in Holly Springs. For more info, see devilsridgecharityclassic.com.
