Never mind dinner and a show — how about dinner and a cause, times two?

Cary nonprofits Life Experiences and the Lucy Daniels Center are each holding fundraising events this month, offering fun and fine food along with the chance to contribute to their community efforts.

First up is an Evening of Experiences Auction to benefit Life Experiences, set for Sunday, Nov. 9, from 5:30 to 9 p.m., at Prestonwood Country Club.

Life Experiences operates five small businesses that offer employment to adults with developmental disabilities, while at the same time providing valuable services and products to the community.

Evening of Experiences will feature a social, live and silent auctions, and hors d’oeuvres. Tickets are $75; for more information, see lifeexperiences.org.

Expressions

Next up is Expressions: A Celebration of Food & Art, the annual fundraiser of the Lucy Daniels Center, which offers mental and emotional health services for children.

While this event  – a night of mingling and dining with philanthropists, food and wine enthusiasts and art lovers – is now sold out, the cause behind it never will.

The nonprofit Lucy Daniels Center is the largest regional provider of mental health services for children from birth to age 12, working with families to provide comprehensive, individualized treatment to each child.
