Editors of Cary Magazine

Emily Uhland
Emily is co-editor of Cary Magazine. Emily was appointed co-editor in 2011 after previously serving as the magazine’s lead graphic designer. In addition to designing Cary Magazine, Uhland has applied her design skills to other publications such as Triangle East, Heart to Heart, North Carolina Farm Bureau Magazine and NC Magazine. She has also designed collateral for various events including Cary Magazine’s Elegant Weddings Gala (for which she won a Triangle NACE Award), the Women of Western Wake Luncheon and Triangle East magazine’s Home and Garden Show. Uhland earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism, with a concentration in graphic design, from UNC Chapel Hill and joined S&A Cherokee in 2005.

Tara Croft
Tara is co-editor of Cary Magazine. Tara previously worked as copy editor of the publication. In addition to editing, she has written numerous articles and has contributed at all levels of the editorial process of Cary Magazine. She has also copy edited other S&A Cherokee media properties including Auto Remarketing, SubPrime Auto Finance News and Triangle East.  Croft serves on the Town of Cary's Festivals Committee that plans the Lazy Daze and Spring Daze arts and crafts festivals. She graduated cum laude from N.C. State University with a bachelor's degree in English with a minor in technical and scientific communication. She joined S&A Cherokee as an editorial intern in 2007.
