Taste of the Town Tour
Written by David McCreary
Imagine a night out involving upscale limousine service and a spectacular progressive dinner at some of the Triangle's best restaurants. Thanks to a winning auction bid at a Cary Academy fundraiser in February, that scene became a reality recently for four fun-loving local school teachers, significant others and a few friends. The occasion? The second annual Taste of the Town, a Cary Magazine event package for eight (See More Photos).
This year's outing went to high bidder Palmer Seeley, a high school English teacher at Cary Academy, who pooled resources with colleagues Alyson Downing, Kim Jones and Sarah Walden to score a full evening visiting four 2008 Maggy Award-winning dining destinations including Best Appetizers at The Red Room Tapas Lounge, Best Greek at ΧΙΟΣ Café, Best Seafood at Bonefish Grill and Best Dessert at Twisted Fork.
"It was nice to win this evening because all of us enjoy going out together and having a good time around the dinner table," said Seeley. "More important, though, this was a great way for us to support the school, which has such great kids and parents. We all feel fortunate to be teachers there."
